As per the bylaws of LOP scientific societies, the missions of the Lebanese Society of Rheumatology are to:
- Promote the collaboration among the Society members and with the Lebanese and foreign physicians.
- Preserve a professional and ethical level for the Society members under the medical code of ethics.
- Facilitate the scientific exchange between the members of the Society through the organization of conferences, and local and international congresses.
- Develop the members’ skills in conducting and publishing scientific research.
- Promote medical information to educate the public, following the guidance of the LOP scientific committee.
- Develop scientific programs to facilitate the obtainment of a minimum of thirty CME points per year, organized in Beirut and other Lebanese regions.
- Represent the specialty in all scientific, social and ethical matters within LOP and outside it.
- Advocate for the interests of the rheumatologists within the LOP and scientific and academic instances.
- Develop medical protocols under the supervision of the scientific committee and the LOP council.
- Organize patients’ and diseases’ registries under the supervision of the scientific committee and the LOP council.
